Tubing with the Lills

Last Friday I got to do something I have never done before * insert drum roll * I went tubing! :D It was so much fun! We tubed on lake Belton, which is a huge lake. Since it was Friday there was only 1 or 2 other boats on the lake.
Here are some pictures.

Funness

Jonathan trying to commit suicide...I guess I go to jail cause I "assisted" him by holding the tubes together :D

We had a ton of fun. :D

Thank you Lills!  :)

Air soft recon

Today I decied to go and scout out some good hiding places on my ranch for when I have and air soft battle. Then I made a map of my ranch. As I was drawing it a thought popped into my head. I rushed to the computer, opened google earth and searched my address. It is way cool it gives you a satalite view of you house. Then all you have to do is click “file” then “save” or “Ctrl Alt S” and then you have the current view of whatever you are looking at saved to your computer!

satellite view of our ranch

Yellow mean good field recon. Red is strategic location. Black dots are men. Black lines are the edges of our ranch.

Summer

Well as you can guess this post is about my summer :) So what have/will I be doing this summer? Well basically research, I am the founder of Impact debate source book and I am the main researcher working on it so I will be writing a brief every other day till September. Also I have been hanging out with my friends a little bit but since my summer is so busy I really haven’t gotten to hangout very much. My family has also been watching my nieces and nephew for the last 2 and a half weeks. At first I was disappointed that summer wasn’t going to be a vacation but I’m cool with how its been so far :D

Sorry for neglecting my blog for so long :)

Nationals part 2

Ok I know I didn’t keep my promise and post every day but I am going to update you guys on my trip (which was finished like two weeks ago). I didn’t take very many pictures of nationals but here are some of the ones I did get.

My sister, the awesomest debater

So once we left Virginia beach we went to Williamsburg which was awesome! Here are some of the pictures from there.

The Virginia Governors mansion

A canon at William and Mary's college in Williamsburg

then after that we went to DC and saw the air and space museum and American history museum then we went to the top of the Washington monument at night! Then we went to the Kardel family’s house. Many of you may know Esther Kardel here on JN. So here are the pictures of that part of the trip.

Rachel, Rebekah and Emily siting on a bridge

Mr. Salamander

So all in all we had an awesome time. :)

Nationals trip part 1

Here i am 11:00 O’clock we just arrived in Nashville. I don’t have much time so I will make this short.
So as we were about to leave and my mom had me go get some paper towels. Normally this wouldn’t make it into my blog post but this was special see the photo below as for why ;)

Hornet sting

So when I came out of our starage shed I got stung by a hornet so that delayed us for about ten minutes. But we finally made it onto the road :) . We are taking Paul Hastings with us so the ride has been fun but for the most part we have mainly been sleeping.

sleeping kids

We drove till we were about 30 miles from texarkana where we stopped to see/spend the night with my Aunt and Uncle. This morning we headed out about 9:00 o’clock and we slept and slept and slept and when we woke up we were in Grace land!

Elvis Presley

We then went into the Elvis meuseum where we got to see a microphone that Elvis used!

Elvis's microphone

And so far that sums up most of our trip. I will hopefully post updates every night about our adventure on our way to nats. :)

Jibe Now v. Face Book

Recently I got a face book and for a few weeks I thought it was sooooooo cool but then I started to realize how it is not that different from jibe now. So what makes face book even possibly competitive with JN?
1. Face book has photo albums.
2. Face book has chat
3. Face book has more members

Funny thing though Jibe Now will be coming out with all of those very soon. When that happens face book will be old technology and JN will be far far ahead :) The JN administrators will be taking care of Chat and photo albums so there is only one thing we can do to make JN better and that is….
1. Invite everyone you know
2. Post a lot on you blog
3. Comment on other peoples statuses and blog post
If we do these three simple steps I think JN would with out a doubt be much much better that Face book! Because if we have lots of activity on JN people will spend more time here which will help JN :)

An awesome debate year

This year I have truly been blessed. God has allowed me to break multiple times and go far in debate. But most importantly he gave me some awesome friends :)

Us guys hung out talked listened to music together and did a bunch of fun stuff like that.
Here is an amazing debate team. I think ARC has been blessed to have a guy like Ben as our president. And Laura is an amazingly competitive competitor :) I loved debating these guys (Cross examination was fun) :)

This guy did amazingly this year (nationals) :) I have been blessed to be his friend and play air soft with him :)
Josh is an amazing speaker I got beaten by him a couple of times. He is just a fun guy to hang out with.
This picture captured Jonathan’s personality….well kinda….Jonathan you are an amazing interper, your speeches are all so good :) you always seem to make me laugh, your are just a really really fun guy to hang out with and I hope we stay friends for a long time in the future.
Avery I just want to say thanks for enduring me on the ride back from Arkansas as the poison ivy killed me :) and thanks for going to Singapore my sister wouldn’t have had a mental stabalizer if you wouldn’t have gone haha. :)
Paul although you  may not look like an amazing debater in this picture :) you have convinced me that you are the best 14 year old debater :) you were the best partner I could have asked for, for this year.
And then theres you guys that I don’t have pictures of :( Alex McDonald thank you so much for teaching me how to debate. You should have been the one in semi finals you were the one who showed me what I know about debate. You also endured my crazyness and were kind of like a mental stabilizer for me :)
This isn’t everyone so I will probably edit this post to add more :)
God bless you guys~Joseph

History lesson

Have a history teacher explain this—– if they can.

Abraham Lincoln was elected to Congress in 1846.
John F. Kennedy was elected to Congress in 1946.

Abraham Lincoln was elected President in 1860.
John F. Kennedy was elected President in 1960.

Both were particularly concerned with civil rights.
Both wives lost their children while living in the White House.

Both Presidents were shot on a Friday.
Both Presidents were shot in the head

Now it gets really weird.

Lincoln ’s secretary was named Kennedy..
Kennedy’s Secretary was named  Lincoln .

Both were assassinated by Southerners.
Both were succeeded by Southerners named Johnson.

Andrew Johnson, who succeeded Lincoln, was born in 1808.
Lyndon Johnson, who succeeded Kennedy, was born in 1908.

John Wilkes Booth, who assassinated Lincoln, was born in 1839.

Lee Harvey Oswald, who assassinated Kennedy, was born in 1939.

Both assassins were known by their three names.
Both names are composed of fifteen letters.

Now hang on to your seat.

Lincoln was shot at the theater named ‘Ford’.
Kennedy was shot in a car called ‘  Lincoln ‘ made by ‘Ford’.

Lincoln was shot in a theater and his assassin ran and hid in a warehouse.
Kennedy was shot from a warehouse and his assassin ran and hid in a theater.

Booth and Oswald were assassinated before their trials.

WHO FIGURED THIS OUT?

INCREDIBLE
1) Fold a NEW $20 bill in half…

2) Fold again, taking care to fold it exactly as below

3) Fold the other end, exactly as before
< /B>

4) Now, simply turn it over…

What a coincidence! A simple geometric fold creates a catastrophic premonition printed on all $20 bills!!!

COINCIDENCE?

YOU DECIDE

As if that wasn’t enough…

Here is what you’ve seen…

Firstly
The Pentagon on fire…

Then
The  Twin Towers.

..And now .. look at this!

TRIPLE COINCIDENCE ON A SIMPLE $20 BILL

Disaster (Pentagon)
Disaster (  Twin  Towers )
Disaster (Osama)???

It gets even better 9 + 11 = $20!

Creepy huh? Send this to as many people as you can, cause:

Hey, this is one history lesson most people probably will
not mind reading!

Apologetics

Sorry guys I have been away for a while in New Mexico and Colorado…..I will post about that soon. But I got inspired today and made this apologetics card it is generic.

Scriptures

Generic for “the bible is no different than any other holy book.” and “The bible is simply the work of a great conspiracy, where people sought to create their own religion.” And “The Old Testament is merely a set of myths made up by the Jewish people to establish national identity and give them selves a feeling of superiority.”

According to Dr. Jay L. Wile (who is an author of 10 great textbooks used world-wide by homeschoolers, holds a Ph.D. from the University of Rochester in nuclear chemistry and a B.S. in chemistry from the same institution. He has won several awards for excellence in teaching and has presented numerous lectures on the topics of Nuclear Chemistry, Christian Apologetics, Homeschooling, and Creation vs. Evolution.)

he says “In historical science, any document (a clay tablet, a scroll, a book, ect.) That claims to be a work of history is put through three test. They are called the internal test, the external test, and the bibliographic test. If the work passes those three tests, it is considered a legitimate work of history.”

Later on he explains the test “The internal test simply test to see whether or not the document in question is internally consistent. In other words, the internal test says that a valid work of history cannot contradict itself. The second test that is applied is the external test. This test ask another simple question: does the document contradict other known historical facts? There are two ways this is applied. First, they compare the document of interest to other documents that have already passed the three tests. The external test also compares the statements in the document to known archaeological facts. Then comes the final test, the bibliographic test, which is probably the most important of the three. To be a reliable document, the work must have eyewitness accounts.”

Later on in this book he says that “you have probably heard people say the bible contradicts itself.” This is true you probably have heard this, here is a example. Matthew 1:16 says “Jacob was the father of Joseph, the husband of Mary” whereas Luke 3:23 says that Jesus was the “the son of Joseph, the son of Eli.” So one account, then, says that Jesus’ grandfather was Jacob, whereas the other says he is Eli. Dr. Wile says “While these two genealogies seem contradictory, they are actually complementary. That’s because the genealogy presented in Matthew is Joseph’s family line, whereas the passage in Luke traces Mary’s family line. Since women were not considered very important to ancient Jews, their names did not appear in genealogies. Of course, Luke was also educated enough to know that women should not be mentioned in genealogies, so that’s why he used Josephs name.

So we see the bible passes the internal test in this example. Then to the second test, the external test.  Then there are also archeological proofs of the bible as William F. Albright one of the greatest archeologist of the twentieth century says “there can be no doubt that archeology has confirmed the substantial historicity of the old testament..” then historian F.F. Bruce says it even better “it may be legitimate to say that archeology has confirmed the new testament record.” So we see the bible passed the first two test.

Now to the bibliographic test or eye witness test. There are actually eyewitness accounts that aren’t in the bible, one such is Flavius Josephus. An important thing to note is that Josephus was not a Christian. Josephus mentions rulers and cities discussed in the bible, and in his reports are consistent with those of the bible. In addition, Josephus mentions the life and execution of John the Baptist and the existence of Christ brother James, in agreement with the New Testament.

So in conclusion we can see the bible passes the scientific test for historical authentity.

And to sum it up, this wonderfull quote from Dr. Wile “The bible passes the internal better than any document of its time, and you come to the scientific conclusion that the stories and accounts in the bible are more trust worthy than any document of the other accounts we have about the Roman Empire and other facets of ancient life!”

Two amazing games

So I found out about this game a while back called Nation States. In the game you create a nation and you make decisions for it every day you get a new choice and you pick one of the options which in turn effects you econemy and civil along with your population. You can join the world assembly and vote on even more issues! It teaches a lot about government and how politics work. check it out here. Then I found out about another game which is about twice as realistic and is a lot harder. It teaches a ton about government policy. check it out.
